Hand luggage

You are allowed to bring on piece of hand luggage on board. The rules for hand luggage are applied primarily due to safety reasons, but it is also about comfort and well-being for both you and your fellow passengers.

Rules for hand luggage on aircraft type Fokker50, maximum dimensions are L45xW20xH35 cm and cannot weigh more than 8 kg. The Fokker50 aircraft is operated on destinations Hemavan-Arlanda v.v, Kramfors-Arlanda v.v, Lycksele-Arlanda v.v, Vilhelmina-Arlanda v.v, Örnsköldsvik-Arlanda v.v och Kokkola Pietarsaari.

Passengers travelling on the aircraft type Jetstream32 shall be able to place their hand luggage beneath the seat in front of them. Maximum dimensions are L45xW20xH35 cm and cannot weigh more than 8 kg.The Jetstream32 aircraft is operated on destinations Hagfors/Torsby - Arlanda v.v.

You may bring liquids with you in containers which does not exceed 100 ml (1 dl). The containers should be stored in a transparent 1-liter resealable plastic bag. If you do not have such a bag, they are available at all Swedish airports (in some airports there can be a fee for these bags).

Liquids include jellies, creams, water, toothpaste, hair gel, drinks, soups, juice, perfume, shaving cream, sprays and other articles of similar consistencies. Liquid medicine, baby food and diet foods should be packed in a way that makes it easy for to show them in the security check at the airport. Liquids such as medicine, baby food and diet foods do not have to be in plastic bags.

The rules for restrictions on liquids do not include checked in baggage. Be sure to pack liquids in checked in baggage in such a way that they do not break or open during transport. Any damage that occurs in checked in baggage if a bottle breaks will not be replaced.

If you are travelling on our Kampanj ticket, checked baggage is not included in the ticket price, however this can be purchased for a cost of 250 SEK, one way. On our tickets FULL, MID and LOW there is one piece of checked in baggage included per person.

On our aircraft type Fokker50 the maximum weight per checked in baggage is 23 kg. This type of aircraft operates on destinations Hemavan-Arlanda v.v, Kramfors-Arlanda v.v, Lycksele-Arlanda v.v, Vilhelmina-Arlanda v.v, Örnsköldsvik-Arlanda v.v and Kokkola Pietarsaari-Arlanda v.v.

On our aircraft type Jetstream32 the maximum weight per checked in baggage is 20 kg. This type of aircraft operates on destinations Hagfors/Torsby - Arlanda v.v.

Extra checked in baggage
In cases where you as a passenger are in need of an extra checked baggage, in addition to the baggage included in your ticket, this can be added to your booking at a cost of 250 SEK per baggage, one way. Extra luggage can be ordered through our website or by contacting our Callcenter.

Regulations on overweight
Baggage that weighs more than the specified weight stated on your ticket – hand luggage excluded -is counted as overweight, if your ticket does not state otherwise. Any extra weight that goes over the accepted weight limit will be charged by a flat rate of 30 SEK per kilo.

The maximum weight allowed per bag may not exceed 30 kg, overweight included.

Strollers shall be handled like checked in baggage, the wheels shall be unmounted during transport and the stroller shall be packed in a plastic stroller bag to reduce the risk of any damage. Stroller bags can be bought at most airports.

When travelling with and infant you may bring one stroller or child seat without extra charge. No checked baggage is included in the infants ticket.

Regulations for transporting animals in the cabin

  • The animal may not have a strong scent
  • The cage must be secured from any leakage and may not exceed dimensions L43xW26xH29 cm
  • The animal and the cage may not exceed the weight of 8 kg together
  • A passenger may bring only one cage and the animal must be inside the cage during the whole flight
  • The animal shall not bother other passengers
  • Animals that are approved in the cabin are cats and dogs
  • Pet in cabin is booked at a cost of SEK 300, one way

Regulations and guidelines for transporting pets in the cargo hold

  • Animals that are checked in as cargo must travel in transport cages/boxes that are leakproof, solid, tight, clean and disinfected.
  • The cage/box must be made of fiberglass, metal (not welded or wire mesh), rigid plastic, solid wood or plywood with handles on the sides and a solid floor (net floors are not accepted).
  • The cage/box must be equipped with containers for food and water and the bottom of the cage/box must be covered with a layer of newspaper or sawdust (not hay or straw).
  • For the animal's comfort, the cage/box must be large enough so that the animal can stand up, turn and lie comfortably. If the cage does not fulfil these requirements, you may not be able to transport your animal. 
  • only transports cages/boxes approved by veterinary authorities.
  • Animals weighing more than 14 kg/31 lbs each must travel in separate cages/boxes.
  • Two adult animals of comparable size up to 14 kg/31 lbs each can be transported in the same cage/box if they are accustomed to living together.
  • Up to three animals can be transported together if they are under 6 months old and come from the same litter.
  • When animals are transported in the cargo hold, the air pressure and temperature are the same as in the passenger cabin. The availability of oxygen in the cargo hold for live animals limits the number and size of the animals that we can transport on the same flight.
  • The cage/box dimensions must not exceed L81xW56xH56 cm.
  • At you pay a flat rate per cage/box and direction. This is booked at a cost of SEK 450 per cage, one way
  • On our Jetsstream destinations Hagfors/Torsby - Arlanda v.v. we do not allow transport of animals in the cargo hold.

Rules and regulations for traveling with service dogs

Service dogs are always welcome on board our flights.

Book a seat for your service dog

Service dogs and service dogs under training can accompany you in the cabin on most of our flights at no extra cost. It is easy to book a place for your service dog through our Callcenter. We recommend that you book at least 48 hours before departure to make sure there is room. Different conditions apply depending on the type of assistance the service animal is used for and where you are traveling.

Assistance dog

    • An assistance dog is specially trained to assist people with disabilities.
    • Assistance dogs can include guide dogs, signal dogs for the deaf and service dogs that are trained to help people who use a wheelchair, have autism or need help keeping their balance, or for other conditions such as epileptic seizures. , low blood sugar or mental illness.
    • Assistance dogs are allowed in the cabin on all our flights in Sweden.

Police dogs and rescue dogs

    • Police dogs and rescue dogs are specially trained to assist personnel in law enforcement agencies or other organizations that are responsible for search and rescue activities.
    • Police dogs and rescue dogs are allowed in the cabin on all flights within Sweden.

Dog for emotional support

    • An emotional support dog assists people with mental or emotional disabilities. Dogs for emotional support do not need to have undergone any special training, but the person traveling with the dog must bring documentation proving that they are in need of this assistance.
    • Dogs for emotional support are only allowed in the cabin on our flights. To be approved for flights to the UK, the dog must be trained and certified by a recognized organization for assistance dogs according to international standards.
    • Flights must be booked through our Callcenter.
    • Dogs for emotional support may only accompany a passenger in need of this assistance. Current documentation (issued no more than one year before the passenger's first flight) supporting the need for this assistance must be presented at check-in and accompany the animal on the journey.

The documentation must be issued by a licensed professional in psychiatry (ie psychiatrist, psychologist, licensed social worker with relevant skills or another doctor who treats the passenger's mental or emotional disability) and be drawn up on paper with his or her letterhead. The certificate must state the following:

    • The passenger has a mental or emotional disability covered by the DSM IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - Fourth Edition).
    • The passenger needs the assistance of a dog for emotional support or a psychiatric service dog during the flight and / or for activities at the passenger's destination.
    • The person issuing the certificate is a licensed professional in psychiatry and the passenger undergoes treatment with him.
    • Information about the professional's license (license type, date of issue and state or other jurisdiction where the license has been issued).

Rules that apply to the trip

    • Make sure your dog has all the necessary travel documents, including vaccination certificates. Any fines, costs or other expenses incurred due to insufficient documentation are your responsibility.

Do you have a brakycephalus (blunt-nosed) service dog?

    • Blunt-nosed dogs such as bulldogs, boxers or Pekingese may have difficulty acclimatizing to certain temperatures and may have breathing problems. Talk to your veterinarian first if you plan to fly with a blunt-nosed dog.

Identification of a service dog

  • Your service dog should be able to be easily identified as a service dog through an ID card, other written documentation, a harness, ID tags or credible oral declaration by a qualified person with special needs who travels with the service animal. Please note that documentation may only be required if the passenger's oral statement is not credible.

The following devices is forbidden to use during the whole journey and must be placed in your hand luggage

  • Cell phone/Walkie-Talkie
  • CD-player
  • Radio transmitter
  • Remote control devices
  • Radio and TV transmitter
  • Electronic cigarettes
  • Other devices that is not mentioned but that contains an active transmitter

Regulations for travelling with camping equipment

  • May only be carried after approval by the operator
  • The equipment must be free of fuel and be well cleaned so that all possible danger of ignition is eliminated
  • The liquid container must have been allowed to dry for at least 1 hour after drainage, and disassembled for a further 6 hours so that all possible liquid has been evaporated
  • Before transporting, the lid must be put on and the equipment wrapped in absorbent material (eg paper towels) to be placed in a bag made of polyethylene material. The bag must be sealed with elastic band for extra security.

Sports equipment
Ski equipment and snowboards shall be transported in a protective ski- or snowboard bag. The ski equipment shall be securely packed with only one pair of skis with ski poles per case/bag. When buying extra luggage in the form of ski equipment, a ski case and a boot bag are included in the price.

To bring sports equipment such as ski- or snowboard bags there is a charge of 300 SEK per leg and bag. One bag may not exceed the maximum weight of 20 kg. Any possible overweight will be charged accordingly.

Avalanche backpack
Maximum one lifesaving backpack per person, containing a pyrotechnic trigger mechanism of max 200 mg net (division 1.4S) and a cylinder with compressed gas that is not flammable. The backpack must be packed so that it cannot be activated unintentionally. The airbags in the backpack must have discharge valves. You need a permit from the airline.

** You may not bring sharp objects such as axes, pikes and hooks.

*** The bottle must be empty and the valve open.

**** Only gas of type carbon dioxide or other gas in division 2.2 (not flammable or with secondary danger). The life vest may only contain two gas cartridges, you may also bring two extra protectors. You need a permit from the airline.

****** Four small gas cartridges containing carbon dioxide or other gas in division 2.2 (non-flammable) per person. Each protector must not have a volume of water above 50 ml (for carbon dioxide the equivalent is 28 g). You need a permit from the airline.

To bring one golfbag there is a charge of 300 SEK per leg and bag. Included in the golfbag is the bag, golf clubs and a pair of shoes. Any possible overweight will be charged accordingly.

Bicycles can only be carried if they are packed in a suitable protective bike bag, box or a similar container. One bag may not exceed the maximum weight of 20 kg. To bring a bicycle there is a charge of 450 SEK per leg and bag. Any possible overweight will be charged accordingly. Electric bicycles are considered as dangerous goods and cannot be transported on Amapola flights

Special baggage cannot be exchanged for a regular checked baggage, which means that there is always a fee to check in special baggage.

Weapons and ammunition
According to Swedish law it is prohibited to bring firearms into the cabin. Carriage of weapons must be requested and approved in advance by contacting Amapola Callcenter +46 (0) 770 - 790 700 or The cost for bringing weapon and ammunition is 350 SEK per leg and weapon case.

Regulations for transportation of firearms

  • You have a valid firearm license
  • The weapon shall not be loaded
  • Weapons and ammunition must be checked in
  • The weapon shall be divided, vital parts must be removed, and be packed in separate bags
  • Ammunition shall be stored in original packaging and may not weigh more than 5 kg per passenger

Regulations for transportation of ammunition

    • You may carry quantities up to 5 kg
    • The ammunition shall be checked in and be transported in the cargo hold
    • Ammunition shall be packed in original packaging
    • Shotgun cartridges shall be fixed so that they do not move in the packaging
    • Cartridges for rifles shall be separated with partitions in the ammunition carton
    • We do not accept that you pack ammunition together with other passengers to be able to increase the amount of 5 kg of ammunition that is accepted in one bag
    • Larger quantities than 5 kg shall be sent as cargo
